· GOVERNMENT NOTICE No. 287 of 2002.
This notice deals with; the cleanliness of the school environment, sewerage system and medical checkup in schools. It requires every school to have clean environment, toilets, playing grounds, supply of clean water and a fence. This notice requires every head teacher, school committee or board and the District Education Officer to make sure that a medical checkup is conducted frequently to all students, teachers and other school staff.
This notice is geared at ensuring that education is provided in a conducive environment with health teacher and to health students. This ensures that we have quality education. However this has remained on paper and most public and private schools do not have playing grounds, toilets and the medical check ups are seldom carried out.
